Reason for this is that paid server location was more reliable for most of the customers but unfortunately it can't satisfy 100% of the customers and their network path to the location.
If you do a whois lookup for both IPs behind these hostnames, you will see for yourself. As a paid customer, you were directed to a paid-only servers in Singapore (behind load balanced sg. hostname) that are hosted on a different provider than servers where free users connect (behind load balanced hostname). Note: I've reported only one pair of screenshots, but I confirmed it by switching between free and premium account several times. Pings My premium account - connection time ~80 seconds.
